NJ High School XC Rankings – Girls Week 6

14SJOpenG

Caseys Continue to Rule

Red Bank Catholic headed north and kept the #1 spot. Randolph stayed home and won big. Ridge and Hillsborough gear up for a big County showdown. Not as much drama as on the Boys side, but the Ladies mixed it up pretty good out on the trails last week. Championships are on the line as the season moves into gut check time.

Northern Highlands edged Ridgewood, 34-35 as the Highlanders came within 2 seconds a girl of setting Darlington team course record (19:14 avg.). Catherine Pagano tied for third fastest time (17:49) (record 17:36 by Josette Norris last year, 17:38 by Lindsay Van Alstine (2001 state champ) and 17:49 by Jenna Rogers (1993 state champ) only other times faster.
Ridgewood ran terrific (Nos. 1-2-3-4-5 with Darlington PRs) but Highlands was amazing. Ridgewood avg. of 19:19 sixth all-time at Darlington and the two team races are fastest ever by lots this early in season. Previous best avg. at league meet 19:33 in 2012

I had No. High. in my top ten based on SCI. In concert with the results of the Somerset meet today, it looks to be getting very interesting on the girls’ side!
